What Is BOTOX® and How Do We Use It at Regeneris?
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified botulinum toxin type A, FDA-approved to soften the lines made by repeated muscle movement: forehead lines, the “11s” between the brows and crow’s feet. At Regeneris we also use it for lip flips, bunny lines, a downturned mouth, platysmal neck bands, jaw slimming for teeth grinders and excessive underarm sweating (hyperhidrosis).
A tiny dose relaxes the targeted muscle so the skin above it stops creasing. Because we dose by muscle strength rather than by a fixed “20 units for the forehead” formula, the result is a rested face that still moves, not a frozen one.
How BOTOX® Works, and Why Injector Experience Matters
Botulinum toxin blocks the signal between the nerve and the muscle it serves. Within 3 to 5 days the treated muscle relaxes, the overlying line softens, and the full effect settles in at about two weeks. Nothing is added to the face, so BOTOX® does not change your features; it only quiets the movement that etches lines into the skin.

What to Expect at Your BOTOX® Appointment in Westwood
Every BOTOX® visit starts with a free consultation. We photograph your face at rest and in motion, map the muscles behind each line and agree on a unit plan before anything is injected. First-time patients usually leave this step with a conservative plan and a two-week follow-up booked.
The skin is cleansed and the injection points are marked while you make the expressions we are treating. Numbing is rarely needed; the needle is finer than the one used for a flu shot. Tell us about blood thinners, fish oil or recent dental work so we can plan around bruising risk.
