What Is a Liquid Facelift?

A liquid facelift is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that lifts, tightens, and rejuvenates the face without incisions or downtime. This innovative treatment uses Botox and dermal fillers to smooth fine lines and wrinkles. At the same time, non-surgical facelift restores lost volume to key facial areas such as the cheeks, eyes, and jawline.
Among the liquid facelift techniques, one of the most innovative is the Y-Lift, which is for structural volumization. It shapes and defines major facial contours with the help of hyaluronic acid-based fillers. The name originates from the “Y” shape formed by these facial contours.

Liquid Facelift Procedure Explained

Our doctor analyzes the patient’s history, skin concerns, and the results desired from the procedure. This way, we can develop the appropriate treatment plan using either a light, medium or deep chemical peel. Photographs may be taken to document the pre- and post-skin condition. The patient’s skin sensitivity test is taken as part of the next step to rule out adverse reactions using the selected solution.
To avoid interfering with the outcomes of the treatment, patients may be told to avoid certain medicines or beauty care products. Under specific circumstances, some medical states may raise contraindications to the procedure, especially pregnancy and open wounds or active infections.
  • Preparation and Cleansing: The patient’s skin is thoroughly cleaned to get rid of dirt on the day when the procedure is done. To avoid irritation, some protective creams like petroleum jelly are applied over the eyes and lips.
  • Application of the Peel: Then, the chosen chemical solution is applied to the skin cautiously using a brush, cotton pad, or applicator. As a result of skin exfoliation, patients experience a slight tingling or warming sensation. This stage takes different amounts of time depending on the peel type used.
  • Neutralization and Removal: In most cases, the peel solution is deactivated and wiped off gently from the surface after some time. If it is a deep peel, there might be a need for additional post-procedure care, like the application of a soothing ointment.

The time taken to recover from a chemical peel is dependent on the depth of the peel applied. We make sure that we give each individual an elaborate plan of what they need to do after treatment. So that they can recover well and have the best results.
Immediate Effects
Some patients can expect mild swelling, redness, or bruising at the sites of injection. This is quite normal and generally resolves on its own in a few days. Such effects can be easily managed with cold compresses and, if necessary, over-the-counter pain relievers. Makeup can often be applied after 24 hours to conceal any temporary discoloration.
  • Avoid Strenuous Activities: We recommend that patients avoid intense physical activities, including workouts, for at least 24 to 48 hours to avoid further swelling.
  • Keep Upright: Patients are advised to avoid lying down or putting pressure on the areas treated for at least four hours after the procedure so the injectables can settle appropriately.
  • Avoid Heat and Sun Exposure: It is suggested not to be exposed to direct sunlight, saunas, or hot showers for 48 hours because heat may increase swelling.
Some of the results, such as extra volume and lifted contours, are immediate. But the full effects of this become visible over the course of the following week as the fillers settle and the Botox takes effect. Then, patients can enjoy this fresh, younger look for several months, with results lasting as long as 18 months with the different types of fillers used.
