Dermal Filler Procedure: Step by Step Banner

The Dermal Filler Procedure at Regeneris, Step by Step

Initial Consultation
During your first visit, our expert practitioners will thoroughly assess your skin’s condition, focusing on texture, elasticity, and areas of volume loss. We’ll discuss your aesthetic goals in detail and develop a customized treatment plan tailored to your unique facial structure. Your medical history will be carefully reviewed to ensure dermal fillers are a safe and appropriate option for you.
Once we begin your appointment, your practitioner will meticulously mark the planned injection sites while explaining the approach for optimal results. A topical anesthetic will be applied to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure, and we’ll take detailed photographs to document your starting point. The treatment area will be prepared following strict sterile protocols to ensure your safety.
Your practitioner will strategically inject Juvéderm using ultra-fine needles, carefully layering the product to achieve natural-looking volume enhancement. Throughout the 30-45 minute procedure, gentle massage techniques ensure even distribution of the filler, while your provider frequently checks the results to maintain symmetry and achieve your desired outcome. Regular feedback from you during the process helps us adjust and perfect the results.
After your treatment, we may apply cold compresses to minimize any potential swelling or bruising at the injection sites. You’ll receive detailed aftercare instructions to ensure optimal results and healing, including guidance about activities to avoid in the first 24-48 hours. Before you leave, we’ll schedule your follow-up appointment to monitor your results and address any concerns.
Recovery after Dermal Fillers Banner

Recovery After Dermal Fillers: Day by Day

First 24 Hours
During the initial day after treatment, you can expect some mild swelling and potential bruising, which is completely normal and part of the healing process. We recommend applying ice packs intermittently and sleeping with your head elevated to help minimize swelling and ensure optimal results. It’s essential to avoid touching or massaging the treated areas during this time to allow the filler to settle properly.
As you move into the second and third days, you’ll notice the swelling starting to subside, though bruising may temporarily become more noticeable before it begins to fade. While you can return to most regular daily activities, it’s important to avoid strenuous exercise that could increase blood flow to the face and potentially affect the filler placement. Continue following the aftercare instructions provided by your practitioner.
By this point in your recovery, most of the initial swelling will have resolved, and any bruising will continue to fade significantly. You’ll begin to see your results taking shape as the filler settles into its final position. You can resume your normal skincare routine, though continue to be gentle around the treated areas.
At this stage, you’ll see your final results emerge as any remaining signs of treatment completely resolve. Any lingering bruising will have disappeared, allowing you to fully enjoy your refreshed appearance. You can confidently return to all social activities, and if needed, attend a follow-up appointment to assess your results and discuss any concerns.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Fillers in Boston?

Benefits of Dermal Fillers at a Physician-Led Practice

Physical Benefits

Dermal fillers provide immediate volume restoration to areas affected by age-related volume loss, creating a more youthful and refreshed appearance. The treatment effectively smooths fine lines and wrinkles while enhancing facial symmetry through careful placement of the hyaluronic acid-based product. Beyond the visible improvements, fillers also boost skin hydration from within, leading to more defined facial contours that continue to refine and improve over time, all while maintaining a natural appearance that doesn’t betray the intervention.

Emotional Benefits

The transformative effects of dermal fillers extend far beyond physical changes, often resulting in a significant boost to self-confidence and overall well-being. Many clients report feeling more assured in both social and professional settings, with reduced anxiety about the aging process affecting their appearance. The immediate yet natural-looking results provide lasting satisfaction, allowing individuals to feel like the best version of themselves without appearing artificially enhanced or “overdone.”

Lips and under-eyes usually take one syringe; cheeks and a full liquid facelift take two to four. Hyaluronic acid fillers last 6 to 18 months (Juvéderm® Voluma® in the cheeks up to two years), so the cost per year is often lower than it first appears.

Your quote is set at a free consultation after we examine your face at rest and in motion. Regeneris offers financing for multi-syringe plans, and many patients combine fillers with BOTOX® in one visit to save a trip from Boston.

Hyaluronic acid fillers last 6 to 18 months depending on the product and the area; thicker cheek fillers such as Juvéderm® Voluma® can last up to two years. Lips, which move constantly, fade fastest.

Juvéderm® fillers contain lidocaine, and we apply a topical numbing cream first. Most patients describe pressure rather than pain. The treatment takes 30 to 45 minutes at our Westwood office.

When placed conservatively by an experienced injector, yes. Our approach is to restore what age has taken, not to add volume where it never existed, and to review the result with you before adding more.
